Limits to claims |

The total of all claims is usually limited to the value of the car, or a
specific limit for each item.
One independent specialist offered a claim limit of few thousands of rupees
less than the used cars value, and up to the value of the car for new cars. You
could claim for just one mechanical failure per component; and parts could be
replaced with reconditioned units.

Car hire, emergency travel and even hotel accommodation
in the event of a breakdown may be covered. Most warranties also include
roadside assistance, recovery and home call service, accident recovery and
vehicle collection. Do check if these are part of the package or chargeable
options. |

The warranty may be transferable if you sell the car.
Check any conditions affecting transfer and the cost – there may be a
administration charge to do a transfer. Find out if there is a 'betterment'
clause - if a repair or replacement part improves the car's value, you may have
to contribute towards the cost. |
