10 Steps to Buy a Used Car
Step 3: Finding your Car
Finding your vehicle is becoming easier all the time. There are a growing variety of sources where you can find vehicles for sale. One of the more renown and reputable sources is Autoindia.com. They are all available for viewing online at www.autoindia.com. AutoIndia.com gets listing from the following resources.
  From Used Online Buying
From dealers who sell both new and used cars.
From a dealer who deals in only used cars.
From individual owners.

Used Online Buying
If you want to buy a used vehicle online, there are many used car buying sites including AutoIndia.com where you can search for the car you need and be put in touch with the seller in seconds.
Individual Owners:
Our online classifieds can greatly increase the quality of communication between you and the seller via photos, history, mileage and other vital facts that are clearly displayed on each vehicle entry. You can also apply online for a warranty on your used car for added security. The price they ask for will generally tend to be lower than that demanded by dealers. Double check for the ownership of the car. Have the car checked by your mechanic because these cars are sold on ‘as is where is basis’. You have a chance of netting a cool bargain if you persist long enough on this route.
New Car Dealers - Certified Pre-Owned
With the market of new cars seeing a steady climb down, these dealers increasingly try to make up their profits through this segment. The advantages on offer are that they are thoroughly inspected; give a larger choice, and also service and maintenance warranties. You can insist on confirmation to tax and pollution laws. The condition of these cars is generally better than those offered by others.

Manufacturers' certified programs have taken much of the risk out of used car shopping by offering excellent warranties on refurbished used vehicles. Only certain vehicles qualify for certification. Typically, the vehicle must be under five years old and have less than 50,000 kilometers on the odometer. Manufacturers vary in how many points of the vehicles are reconditioned, but most put the vehicle through a complete check of all major systems.
Used Car Dealers
The condition of the cars offered by these dealers is a shade worse because they operate on low profit margins. Most of these cars are in bad shape, with shady workmanship to gloss over the defects. Never buy these until your mechanic vouches for their veracity.
Auction
There is always a high risk but potentially cheaper. The vehicles may appear in great shape, but unless you are a very knowledgeable auto mechanic, you may be purchasing someone else's damaged goods without knowing it. Auction cars may have been previously damaged in an accident or reconditioned, but the parts used are often substandard and the work less-than-perfect.
